For clinic owner, Chris Ellis, life is about the journey, not the destination. Professionally, Chris has been on a journey that culminated with opening his own practice. He knew in high school that he wanted to become a physical therapist and during college, a basketball injury affirmed his goal. Chris has worked in outpatient physical therapy, inpatient physical therapy, post-operative care, and a worker’s compensation clinic, all of which gave him valuable experience on his journey to private practice.
Trailhead is built on the characteristics of work ethic, courage, perseverance, and a passion for work. Our team is highly trained, and we deliver individualized, effective, and efficient care to our community. Trailhead is so much more than leg raises and ice packs, it is a legacy for family, patients, and staff.
We’re a team of dedicated professionals serving the needs of patients in North Phoenix.

Chris is an Arizona native, having grown up in north Phoenix. He continued his studies at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, where he earned his doctorate in physical therapy. Chris has experience treating postoperative joint replacements, neurological conditions, postoperative organ transplants, outpatient orthopedics and sports performance. He also worked as part of the CMU medical staff, where he treated collegiate and professional athletes, taught in the Kinesiology department and pursued certifications in spinal manipulation and dry needling. Chris teaches a total joint rehabilitation class around the country and is passionate about treating patients with manipulation, dry needling, cupping, scraping and other manual techniques. Outside of the clinic, Chris enjoys spending time with his family hiking and camping. He enjoys hiking the Arizona Trail, climbing Colorado’s 14ers and backpacking through National Parks.
